Another adjustment this month is the rearrangement of the way the Superdisk is incorporated into the SuperCD. Instead of simply copying the disk across, the files from the Superdisk are now incorporated into the usual categories. So this month you'll find Protext and PKZip for Windows in the Evaluation Versions and the files for the Hands On section can be either installed from here as you could normally do or you can load then directly from the Handson folder on the CD-ROM where they are also stored uncompressed.

Also in this section are the Rants and Raves videos for this month, along with a special preview of the Comdex Show report we are preparing for next month. Incidentally, if you are interested in multimedia like this, check out Talk Java to Me.

Rants and Raves

This month, Huw goes boldly where no computer journalist has gone before and investigates the growing phenomenon of multimedia CD-ROM tie-ins like the new Star Trek Omnipedia. You can read the Rants and Raves column on page 274 and there's also a feature on Sci-Fi starting on page 276.

Don't forget that to play these videos, you'll need to have a player installed and associated with AVI files. If you don't, you can install Video for Windows now.

Comdex Preview

The Comdex preview is a glimpse of what's to come next month in our exclusive show report (which cost us thousands and that's why we're rather proud of it). Like Rants and Raves, it requires Video for Windows or similar.
